ENGINEERING FIRST. RACE PROVEN.
FACTOR, a British premium bicycle brand, founded in 2016 by Rob Gitelis, a former WorldTour professional in the 1990s, engineer, and one of the most influential figures in carbon bicycle development.
Rob moved to Taiwan in 1996 and pioneered the use of carbon fibre in high-performance bicycles there. His factory produced frames for an estimated 60% of all carbon frames worldwide.
Factor's origins lie with BF1 Systems, a Formula 1 engineering company in Norfolk (UK), which developed the revolutionary Factor 001 in 2007. Rob acquired the brand in 2015 and officially launched Factor during the 2016 Tour Down Under. Within nine months, and with fewer than 250 bikes produced, he signed a WorldTour sponsorship deal with AG2R La Mondiale. In 2017, Factor was at the start of the Tour de France, where Romain Bardet won a stage and finished third in the general classification.
Factor is one of the few brands with its own production facility, allowing for direct control over R&D, quality, and lead times. Four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome joined in 2021 as an investor and co-owner, bringing his racing insights directly into the engineering process.
THE FASTEST BIKE
When AusCycling asked to build the fastest pursuit bike in the world, Rob Gitelis shut down the factory for almost a year. The result: the HANZŌ Track, a bike so radical that it pushed the boundaries of the UCI and forced the cycling world to reconsider what was possible.
7 August 2024, Paris. The Australian four-man team, Welsford, Bleddyn, Leahy, O'Brien, breaks the World and Olympic Record: 3:40.730.
But the story doesn't end there. Everything that Factor learned about airflow and aerodynamics flowed directly into the Factor ONE: the fastest UCI-legal road bike in the world.
Born on the velodrome in Paris. Proven on the road.

BUILD YOUR DREAM BIKE
ONE
The Fastest Racing Bike in the World
You immediately feel on the first sections what the ONE is built for: maintaining high speed without the bike becoming twitchy. Factor positions this model as their latest aero race platform, developed with CFD, wind tunnel work, and input from previous projects such as the OSTRO VAM and HANZŌ Track. The frame features a pronounced aero front-end with the Bayonet Fork + “Chin” fairing concept, designed to better direct airflow around the front wheel and fork crown.
Practically, it remains a true race bike: internal cable routing, electronic groupsets, 160 mm rotors, 54T max chainring, and measured tyre clearance up to 34 mm. The geometry is explicitly tuned for modern race positions, shorter cranks, narrower handlebars, more weight at the front, with consistent steering geometry across all sizes. This is not an all-rounder for comfort rides; this is a pure speed machine for riders who know their position and pace.
OSTRO VAM
For Every Road, Every Challenge
A bike that is aerodynamic enough to dominate sprints, light enough to conquer climbs, and responsive enough to instil confidence in every corner.
The OSTRO VAM is the bike for riders who do not want to choose between aero and lightweight. In practice, you notice this especially in races or fast group rides: it responds instantly, remains stable at speed, and at the same time has the efficiency of a modern climbing bike.
Factor explicitly describes it as suitable for sprints, classic work, and climbing, and the specs support that racing profile: TeXtreme/Toray/Nippon Graphite carbon lay-up, wide stance fork, integrated cockpit, CeramicSpeed SLT headset, and T47A bottom bracket. The specified frame weight is 900 g, with measured tyre clearance up to 32 mm, so you can build it up tight for racing or slightly wider for poorer asphalt.
O2 VAM
The O2 VAM is not a niche bike solely for long climbs, but a lightweight racing bike that also performs well on flat sections and in fast racing situations.
The O2 VAM combines a low frame weight (700 g) with clear aero elements in the frame and fork, resulting in a bike that accelerates smoothly and feels light. You can set it up tightly for pure road performance, but also ride with slightly more tyre volume for poorer asphalt and longer rides.
The O2 VAM is therefore primarily a modern all-round racing bike: light, responsive and efficient, with enough aerodynamic advantage to make it sensible even outside of climbing.
MONZA
The MONZA is for riders who ride or race daily. This is not a diluted OSTRO VAM; it is a considered choice. The handling is identical: the same head angle, the same fork offset.
The difference lies in 10mm extra stack for a wider fit, built to be ridden every day without worries. Aerodynamically, the difference is minimal: 2.5 watts less than the OSTRO VAM at 45 km/h.
The MONZA adopts practical features from the Slick: an integrated compartment in the downtube for tools and tubes, a 1.5" upper headset bearing with a round stem for easier maintenance, and the HB05 semi-aero cockpit with a 5mm shorter reach and drop than the AB01 plus an 8° flare in the drops.
This is the Factor for riders who want one bike for training, touring, and club races.
OSTRO Gravel
The OSTRO Gravel is designed for riders who expect the same precision from a gravel bike as they do from a road bike. You particularly feel this when the pace picks up: as a fast gravel platform with sharp handling.
Factor substantiates this with size-based fork offsets and a geometry choice that steers quickly and directly on 43 mm tyres, but still feels logical on narrower tyres. The specifications indicate measured tyre clearance up to 45 mm, with ISO-compliant clearance around the tyre. The frame weight is stated as 950 g, featuring a wide stance fork, CeramicSpeed SLT headset (1.5”), T47A bottom bracket, and integrated aero cockpit.
This is Factor's gravel race interpretation: fast on hard gravel, efficient on mixed routes, and technically built for competitive use.
ALUTO
The ALUTO is the gravel bike in the Factor range for riders who want more versatility in use: from fast gravel rides to rougher terrain and longer days.
You can immediately see this in the technical choices: UDH compatibility, space for both 1x and 2x setups, T47A bottom bracket, internal routing, and a round 27.2 seat post size with dropper post compatibility. The measured tyre clearance is 47 mm, which makes it noticeably more versatile for loose terrain and changing conditions. Factor also uses an integrated cockpit and 1.5” headset bearings here, but combines that with a round steerer solution for maintenance and routing.
The ALUTO is not a compromise bike, but a deliberately broader gravel choice within a race-driven brand.
One of the few brands with its own dedicated factory. No compromises on quality, faster innovation, and direct control over every detail.
Countless professional victories achieved in Grand Tours and classics. You ride on exactly the same technology as the best cyclists in the world.
High-quality carbon fibres, CeramicSpeed bearings, and integrated cockpits are standard at Factor. No expensive upgrades needed to get the best.
Each Factor is built to your specifications. Choose your frame colour, components, and finish for a bike that fits you perfectly.
